Lisa Hughston’s life is perfect. With a doting husband, two handsome little boys, and a job she loves as a nurse, she’s done the one thing she always vowed to do: rise above everyone who told her she would amount to nothing more than a high school dropout and drug addict. Just like her mother.

There’s only one problem in her seemingly flawless life … she doesn’t know anything about her husband’s past.

Christopher knows the truth about who he is and where he came from wouldn’t just hurt his wife. It would destroy her. He’s done—and vows to continue doing—everything in his power to keep that side of him buried forever. But when Lisa unknowingly befriends his estranged family, she sends their once perfect life into a tailspin.

Will they survive the fallout when she discovers who he really is and the secrets he’s been hiding?

excerpt

Long Lost Family (An Unedited Excerpt)
The shuffling near the front door caught her attention, but Lisa didn’t turn around. Tensing, she clung to the couch in an almost futile attempt to gather strength for the fight she knew was coming.

“So you’re really not letting me see the boys today?”

“You lied,” she whispered, her voice thick and hoarse from tears. “Is Christopher even your real name?”

Behind her, her husband cleared his throat but didn’t answer. Nothing would dig him out of the hole he’d created, and frankly he was tired of all the fighting.

“It’s funny.” Lisa shook her head, forcing out a humorless laugh. “After all this time and after everything I’ve tried … I still ended up just like my mother. I watched her—year after year, guy after guy losing herself. Changing herself for these losers that weren’t worth her spit. I swore I’d never be like that.” She snapped her head around to face him. Guarded eyes stared back at her. A hard set jaw unflinching and unwelcoming. She’s caved to that look dozens of times over the years, but today, she refused to back down. “Then you came along. You are the one who wanted a wife, and a family, and a home. You’re the one who asked me you marry you. Everything you’ve ever wanted I’ve given you. Everything I do, every breath I take revolves around you and the boys. All you’ve ever had to do was tell me the truth. That’s all. I’ve done everything for you and you couldn’t do this one thing for me.”

“Would you have said yes?” Christopher’s deep voice cut through the moment. “If I’d told you—if you had known What I’d done. Where I’d come from, and who I was. Would we have had all of this?” He gestured around the room. A broken picture frame still lied on the ground. “Would you have married me then? Would you have had my children knowing the blood that would run through their veins? Would you have fought to make a life with me? Tell me now that my past wouldn’t have made a difference, and I’ll get on my hands and knees and beg for your forgiveness.”

“No,” Lisa admitted after a long, reflective stretch of silence.

“Then stop demanding an apology we both know you don’t deserve.”

“An apology I don’t deserve?” she repeated in shock. The words echoed in her ears, rattling her brain and shattering every shred of desire she had left to deal with this version of her husband—this stranger that had infiltrated their lives. Six months ago, he would have moved heaven and earth to make up for something asinine like forgetting the milk on his way home from work. Now, after being faced with their very existence being a lie, she wasn’t worthy of getting a simple ‘I’m sorry.’

“I would say I don’t even know who you are anymore, but the truth is I never did, did I?”

Gorgeous Cover reveal ~ Broken Chords by: @CarrieElks @EJBookPromos #OkayCreations

I am such a fan of Carrie (have been for a while) and CAN NOT WAIT for this release. What a beautiful cover, don’t you think!?!?
~Lo
Title: Broken Chords
Series: Love in London #2
Author: Carrie Elks
Genre: Adult Romance
Release Date: February 26, 2015
Cover Designed by: Okay Creations
Lara knows she should feel lucky. Married to the man of her dreams, with a gorgeous new baby, she should be enjoying her happy-ever-after. But she never expected motherhood to be so difficult, or for her life to change so dramatically.
Alex has it all: hot, tattooed looks, a beautiful wife, and a band that’s finally getting noticed. A lucrative offer of a US tour should be the icing on the cake. But as he leaves the country, distance isn’t the only thing that starts to pull their relationship apart.
With half a world dividing them, Alex and Lara have to battle for a marriage they once took for granted.
Broken Chords is the second story in the Love in London series but can be read completely as a stand-alone.
Though it’s a series, it’s not a serial and there are no cliffhangers, each book features a different couple!

“What caused that smile, gorgeous?” Alex moves back towards me, pulling me into his free arm. His hand cups my hip, fingers digging in deliciously as he bends his head to my neck and presses his lips there. I breathe him in, fresh and clean from a shower, hair glistening and moulded into an almost quiff.

He’s all gel and rolled-up sleeves. There’s no collar on his t-shirt, so I can see the dark inked scrolls that lick up from his chest and shoulders peeking out from the material. Even though Max is in his arms, I can’t help but trace them with my fingers, feeling him tense up as I flutter my hand against his skin.

“Maybe Max should have a nap.” Alex’s voice is thick. “He seems really tired.”

Max starts babbling again; sleep is clearly the furthest thing from his mind.

“He’s not due another nap until this evening.” I try not to laugh at the disappointment on Alex’s face. He stares at me through narrowed eyes, and I smile in response. I’m caught somewhere in the middle of turned-on and amused.

“He seems really tired,” Alex repeats. “And those lips of yours look really empty.”

I know where he’s going with this; I feel like playing.

“They are. Really empty. Desperate to be filled.”

“Then put the baby to bed,” he growls.

I lean forward and press my mouth to Alex’s. He kisses me back, his movements heated. Cupping my chin, he angles my head, slowly running his tongue along the seam of my lips. “Put the baby to bed, now, Lara.”

Carrie Elks lives near London, England and writes contemporary romance with a dash of intrigue. At the age of twenty-one she left college with a political science degree, a healthy overdraft and a soon-to-be husband. She loves to travel and meet new people, and has lived in the USA and Switzerland as well as the UK. An avid social networker, she tries to limit her Facebook and Twitter time to stolen moments between writing chapters. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can usually be found baking, drinking wine or working out how to combine the two.

** Cover Reveal ** Deeper by: @AllynLesley @ObsessedbyBook

Cover Reveal hosted by Obsessive Pimpettes Promotions

Everything Avianna Linton thought she knew was shattered in one traffic stop. With her life turned upside down, she flees to the bright lights of New York City hoping for anonymity and a new life. Rising from nothing, Noah Adams holds onto his power and control with a bone-crushing grip. No one dared challenge his authority until her…

Avi’s disdain for Noah is barely contained, and Noah does everything he can to restrain himself—a concept he has little experience with.

There’s more between the two than either of them realize. A force looms near, hovering with deadly precision and motivated solely by revenge.

Avi wonders who her new friends truly are and if she’s already in too deep. Noah, accustomed to getting what he wants, will do whatever it takes to draw Avi’s in deeper.

Deeper is an interracial romantic suspense novel by new author Allyn Lesley.

Noah shoved his hands in his pockets so he wouldn’t touch her without permission. “What’s your name?”
She straightened her posture, meeting his stare while folding her arms over her chest. “What’s yours?”
Noah laughed out loud.
Well look at this. She has the balls to question me to my face?
He stepped closer to the woman who piqued his interest. “I like that you don’t scare easily. But I asked you first.”
Damn, she’s short. Her head just reached his shoulder. His gaze lowered to her open-toe gold shoes that showed off the cutest digits he’d ever seen. He appreciated that even in heels he towered over her. Her glare greeted him when he returned his attention back to her face.
“And I asked you second,” she countered with a hand on her hip. “We could play this all night, Mister.”
Noah’s gaze deliberately dropped from her tasty-looking lips down to her green dress with the cutout that flirted with her thick thighs. Noah slowly retraced his path up her body and conveyed his intent.
Oh yeah, I’m so fucking you tonight.
By the time their eyes connected again, Noah’s grin had split his face, revealing a set of deep dimples and gleaming white teeth. She failed miserably at making her small smile into a scowl. His grin disappeared when she took a step backward.
“Noah Adams.” The name you’ll be screaming later. He stretched his right hand out, hoping she’d be polite enough to shake. The feel of her hand would have to hold him until he got to the rest in his bed later.

**Deeper will be released January 2015**

Biography
Allyn Lesley writes real stories about real people. As a teen, Allyn lost herself in the pages of some of Romance’s heavyweights, trusting that a happy ever after was just around the corner. In Allyn’s own writing journey, as in life, she’s learned that people don’t always experience recovery and restoration after a fall. Her stories speak to the gritty side of life where the right choice isn’t always easily identified and happiness not quickly gained.

Cover Reveal – Coming Down by: @CarrieElks

Carrie is one of the most supportive authors I know. It’s always a great pleasure being able to share her work – and now her newest cover!!!! ❤
Coming: September 24, 2014
Synopsis
Twenty-eight-year-old Beth Lawrence finally has her life back on track. A job she loves, a wealthy husband and a beautiful home are a far cry from the tragedy that struck when she was nineteen. But now that her past seems firmly behind her, an old flame walks back into her life. Bringing back painful memories of a time she’s worked hard to forget, reviving a passion she tried to bury years before.
Niall Joseph is an up-and-coming artist, recently returned from success in America. Volunteering to teach in an inner-city drug clinic, the last person he expects to see is the girl who broke his heart nine years earlier. Working closely together allows their old wounds to heal, forging a deeper connection between them. One that slowly starts to burn.
As she becomes tangled up with a neglected child and her drug-addict mother, Beth finds herself drawn to Niall. But neither of them can anticipate how hard it is to tread the thin line between friendship and desire.
Excerpt

“What’s your name?”
“Beth.”
“Are you a student here?”
His question makes me roll my eyes. I’ve been following him and his friends around like a devoted puppy for the best part of my first year. Not that he’s ever noticed. He’s always too busy. Painting. Smoking. Looking beautiful. He’s good at all these things. I know, I’ve studied him like he’s my favourite subject.
“Art History,” I say.
“One of the thinkers.” He gives me a smile. It’s wicked and dirty and makes me want to lick his lips. “Do you paint?”
“No.”
“Shame. Do you model?”
I blush at this one. “No.”
“You should. Come and model for me. I want to paint you.” His words slur but his voice is still seductive and lyrical. Somewhere, far beneath my high, I know he’s spinning me a line.
I bite, nonetheless.
“I’m not pretty enough.”
“Yes you are.”
“Or interesting enough.”
He pulls me closer, his erection digging into my hip. “Yes you are.”
My heart starts to hammer against my chest. This is Niall Joseph holding me. I made Niall Joseph get hard. I don’t think about the drugs or the rain or the fact he’s ignored me all year. I’m too worked up for that.
“I want to kiss you.” He murmurs it softly. Then he presses his lips to my forehead. My skin feels like it’s burning. Hot and fevered. This time, the rain does nothing to cool it down.
“Okay.” I’m almost breathless. He drags his mouth down to my jaw, peppering my skin with kisses.
“You fucking taste like rain, too.”

Ricochet Cover Reveal and Giveaway

It’s here! It’s here! It’s finally HEEERRRREEE!!! (can you tell I’m excited? LOL)

I’ve been wanting to share this cover with you all for what feels like forever, and I’m so glad I’m able to finally do that today.

RICOCHET, come hell or high water, will be released in July 2014. With possible spin-offs coming in 2015.

Below, I’m sharing a teaser, the blurb, as well as the Goodreads link for anyone who would like to add it to their shelves.

Don’t forget the GIVEAWAY! 3 – $10 Amazon Gift Cards are up for grabs!

RICOCHET COVER

SYNOPSIS/BLURB:

“The Rebound Effect” states that in order to get over your ex, you have to get under someone else. At least, that’s what Miles Bedford’s best friend keeps telling him.

So when he’s suddenly ricocheted back into the single life, Miles has one thing in mind. The plan is simple, and his intentions are clear. He’s not looking for love. But sometimes all it takes it one person, and one weekend, to change everything.

TEASER:

And we were quiet again because I realized what I just said. We were going to my house.

The silence and my thoughts of what bringing Noelle home symbolized lasted our whole ride; only ending when we got inside my place and I offered her something to drink.

I leaned back against the counter, resting my head against the cabinet above. Closing my eyes, I took a deep breath. My heart slammed in my chest—this was momentous. The importance of having Noelle in my house, in my kitchen, drinking from glasses I had to buy after my ex left me, and took all her things—even down to the plates and silverware—and some of my confidence with her.

I felt good—happy despite my nerves. In just one night Noelle threw me and my plans off kilter. The guys were right, she had me by the balls. My only desire now was to get out of my head and enjoy every minute of our limited time together.

I opened my eyes to find her watching me from over the top of the glass. A small smile played at her juicy lips, and her eyes had that look which let me know she knew exactly what she was doing to me.
